▶ Swing Arm Mechanism:
The upper structure is the core operating device of this vehicle, mainly consisting of the following five components:
1. Main Boom (Lifting Boom):
o A box-shaped structure welded from high-strength Q235B carbon steel. This is the main load-bearing component, responsible for supporting the entire weight of the garbage bin during loading and unloading.
2. Main Boom Hydraulic Cylinders (Lifting Cylinders):
o Equipped with two double-acting hydraulic cylinders. Controlled by hydraulic control valves in the cab, the piston rod extends to push the main boom to rotate around the fulcrum, thereby completing the lifting (from the ground to the vehicle) and unloading (lifting and dumping) actions of the garbage bin.

3. Hydraulic Rear Outriggers:
o Installed on both sides of the rear beam of the vehicle. When loading and unloading the garbage bin, the rear outriggers need to be lowered to the ground to relieve the huge downward pressure generated when the rear is suspended in the air, preventing the front of the vehicle from lifting up during operation and protecting the chassis beam.
4. Chain (Lifting Chain):
o Connects the end of the main boom to the garbage bin lifting lugs.

5. Garbage Bin:
Volume: 10 cubic meters. Typically made of carbon steel plate with a 6mm base and 4mm side plates. Depending on the transported medium, either a boat-shaped or square bin can be selected.
▶ Hydraulic System:
• The hydraulic system includes an oil tank, oil pump, multi-way directional valve, hydraulic cylinder, balance valve, hydraulic lock, oil filter, and piping.
• Hydraulic Operating Valve: Utilizing a manual multi-way directional valve, the system allows for easy control of the boom's lifting, tilting, and unloading operations, as well as the deployment and retraction of the outriggers.
• Power Take-Off: Power to the hydraulic system is provided by a high-pressure gear pump driven by the engine's power take-off unit.

▶ Working Principle:
The core working principle of this Isuzu FTR swing-arm garbage truck can be summarized as follows: It utilizes a lever mechanism driven by a hydraulic system to achieve three states of operation for the garbage bin: lifting, transporting, and unloading.
Engine power is transmitted to the power take-off (PTO) via the gearbox, which drives the hydraulic pump to generate high-pressure oil, which is then delivered to the multi-way directional valve via oil pipes. Operating the directional valve handle distributes the oil to the swing-arm cylinders or outrigger cylinders. The extension and retraction of the swing-arm cylinders rotates the swing arm, enabling the garbage bin to be lifted, tilted, and unloaded; the extension and retraction of the outrigger cylinders are used to deploy and retract the outriggers, ensuring operational stability.
